Understanding the law for producers shipping to the United States.
The USA Craft Beverage Modernization Act (CBMA) was approved at the end of 2017 and changed the excise tax structure for domestic and imported wine, spirits, and beer. It was passed as part of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act which, as reported by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), amended the Internal Revenue Code with respect to the tax treatment of certain imported and domestically produced alcoholic beverages, including beer, wine and distilled spirits. The law is currently in effect for a 2 year period (2018 and 2019) with legislation proposed to extend or make the change permanent.
To better understand this law and to analyze all news on the import of alcoholic beverages in the United States, WSSA, advocacy industry leader and CBMA experts, is conducting two seminars at the World’s No. 1 International Trade Fair for Wines and Spirits, ProWein 2019.
WSSA and Albatrans will be attending and exhibiting at ProWein again. On this occasion, the participants of the fair will have the opportunity to join the WSSA’s Managing Director Alison Leavitt to discover the intricacies of the United States Craft Beverage and Modernization Act for producers shipping to the USA.
The seminars will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday March 17th and Monday March 18th, at the Albatrans stand, Hall 13 Booth E20.
Please register by contacting Alison Leavitt at: email@example.com cc to firstname.lastname@example.org and reserve your spot for this valuable free seminar.
